What it is

A fixed-fee diagnosis, not a discovery call.

The Diagnostic is a 14-day engagement that produces one deliverable: the Playbook — a 15-to-25-page written diagnosis, plus a 60-minute walkthrough where we take you through it line by line. It costs £1,000, one-off. It is not a sales pitch dressed as research, and it is not free “discovery” that exists to set up a quote. It’s the deliverable you’re paying for, and it’s yours to keep whatever you decide afterwards.

The principle

Be the doctor, not the pharmacist.

Most agencies stop at whatis broken — your conversion rate is low, your ads aren’t working — and immediately sell the fix. We stop at why: the mechanism underneath the symptom, the cause you couldn’t see yourself. That gap is the whole point. A founder can get a list of symptoms from any freelancer’s audit template; you pay us to find the cause underneath it. The diagnosis section names causes only — no fixes leak in until later.

How we look

Eight surfaces, every finding evidenced.

We examine up to eight surfaces in order — positioning and message, acquisition, on-site conversion, paid media, content and SEO, email and retention, data integrity, and brand quality — starting with positioning, because a perfect funnel pointed at the wrong message still fails. Every claim carries a screenshot, a number, or a quote. No finding ships without evidence attached, which is what makes the Playbook read like a senior consultant’s report rather than a sales document. We only write up the surfaces we actually examined — a thin honest report beats a padded one.

The two weeks

What happens across the fourteen days.

Day 0 is a kickoff call where we confirm scope and request access. Days 1–3 we run the surfaces against your live site, analytics, and ad accounts, capturing evidence as we go. Days 4–5 we interview you and up to two of your customers — the gap between how you describe the business and how your customers describe it is often the single richest finding. Days 6–8 we synthesise: cluster the findings, trace each symptom to its root cause, rank the fixes by impact against effort. Then we pressure-test every claim, design the document, and walk you through it. Fourteen days, no later — if we can’t ship in fourteen, we don’t sign.

The Playbook

The Playbook opens with a one-page executive summary — the whole diagnosis in 90 seconds. Then: where you are now, surface by surface, with the evidence; what’s broken and why, traced as symptom → mechanism → consequence → cost; what we’d do in the next 90 days, sequenced into phases; the strategic horizon beyond 90 days; the open questions a 14-day look honestly couldn’t answer; and a recommended next step. It closes with one headline 90-day target — a single number, tied to the top root cause, that you’ll recognise as the thing that matters.
